Girl Scout Troops perform Corporal Works of Mercy

The 5th grade Junior Girl Scout Troop of All Souls Catholic School in Sanford is working toward their Bronze Award by performing Corporal Works of Mercy.

They recently spent their Saturday morning shaving and sorting soap at Clean the World in downtown Orlando.

At Christmas, they visited the sick and elderly at the Atria assisted living home and entertained the residents with beautiful caroling. The girls also volunteered as Bell Ringers for the Salvation Army.

They will feed the hungry at the upcoming Grace and Grits sponsored by the All Souls chapter of St. Vincent De Paul.

There are also plans to make blankets for the homeless shelter and to assist in the upkeep of the All Souls Cemetery. Ultimately, their goal is to leave a lasting memorial to their beloved principal, Jenni Heneghan, who inspired them as a great woman of faith.
