Ten years ago, the United States Catholic Bishops wrote a pastoral letter on stewardship. To the question, Who is a Christian Steward? the Bishops answered that a steward is one:
- Receives God’s gifts gratefully
- Cherishes and tends to them responsibly and accountably
- Shares them in justice and love with others &
- Returns them with increase to the Lord
Stewardship allows us to place our trust, our hope in Christ.
As Christians, this is our daily challenge to listen to Jesus who calls us each by name, and to contribute our time, talents and treasures to build the Kingdom of God.
As good stewards let us give of ourselves in grateful service to the God from whom every good gift has its origin and to whom every gift is returned for his greater honor and glory.
Here are some opportunities for giving in the Diocese of Orlando.
