Holy Redeemer’s Food Pantry is in full swing!

There are people from all over Kissimmee coming to the Holy Redeemer Food Pantry to get food. The food pantry is a non-profit organization that collects and distributes food to the poor.  Last week, we collected over 800 cans!

Every Friday, Holy Redeemer Catholic School students are able to bring in cans to donate to the pantry.  The eighth grade is helping to maintain the food pantry. The students sort and shelve the donated food, periodically going through to discard expired products. Then those in need can receive goods.

Volunteers are vital to the pantry too. They create the bags with such foods as peanut butter, jelly, and other nonperishables. Programs like this are important to the community since there is a need to feed those that are hungry and the food pantry fulfills that need and the call to serve.  So, make sure whenever you go to the grocery store, pick up one or two items and drop them off at the church or any church with a food pantry. Donations can be accepted at the Church Narthex during Mass times or at the parish office, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Think about bringing in one small item and make someone’s day better.  It could be yours!
