Lourdes Academy Christmas Musical

Christmas is the time for celebrating the coming of Christ, our savior. What better way to celebrate and honor this day than to put on a musical?

On December 19th, Lourdes Academy students performed an excellent, humorous musical about Mary and Joseph’s trip to Bethlehem for the birth of Jesus. The musical was performed at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Daytona Beach, FL. It was acted out by the Lourdes Academy 7th grade students. The play had many plot twists, laughs, and songs sung by the Angel Choir. The Angel Choir included Grades Pre-k through 6th Grade. The 8th grade acted as the stage and tech crew. The music was played by the Lourdes Academy Band.

The show kept in mind the true meaning of Christmas, to focus on God and not gifts! The play was written and directed by Mr. Mastric, the Lourdes Academy music teacher and band director.

The students were told to have fun, and that’s what they did! After the show students were released to go home with their families for the Holiday vacation.
