St. Charbel Makhluf is one of the greatest Maronite Catholic saints who lived during the 1800s in the country of Lebanon, who has interceded in obtaining many graces and bodily cures since that time. He spent 23 years of his life living as a solitary hermit, until his death from a stroke on Dec. 24, 1898. On Oct. 9, 1977, Pope Paul VI canonized St. Charbel.
