Bishop John Noonan and Diocese of Orlando Chancery employees welcomed members of the Catholic Foundation of Central Florida’s Corpus Christi Society on Oct. 17 and representatives of parishes and schools on Oct. 20 for a tour of the Chancery building in downtown Orlando.

More than 100 people, including 60 students from St. James Cathedral School and Trinity Catholic High School, as well as a group of home-schooled students from Osceola County, participated in the event. This is the second time the diocese has offered the tour. The first tour was held Nov. 1, 2102.

“For me, the building is not just any building,” Bishop Noonan said about the Chancery. “It a special and holy space because within it occurs the carrying forth of the mission of the Church, that each one become the light of the world so that our light shine before others, that they may see our good deeds and glorify our heavenly Father.”

During the tour, guests visited each office and met representatives from 28 ministries in the Diocese of Orlando who are here to serve the people of God for the purpose of enkindling a deeper faith among all people and forming leaders in Christ.  Most of the ministries housed within the Chancery Office Building are funded through Our Catholic Appeal.

“Over the years I’ve had many opportunities to collaborate with diocesan offices,” said Gayle Zambito, Youth Minister at Holy Family Catholic Church, Orlando. “The tour and conversations helped solidify my understanding of Bishop Noonan’s vision for harmonizing ministries.”
