The Church is supportive of the Christian faithful who may be called to form or participate in any of a variety of associations whether private or public. While not part of the diocesan curia or under the direct control of the bishop, they serve a collaborative and complimentary role in ecclesial ministry by their own purpose, spirituality or charism. Lay organizations of the faithful with a Catholic purpose are recognized by the diocesan ordinary to ensure their authenticity to the Church’s mission.
