Please be reminded that this year’s New Ministers Orientation is scheduled for September 30 at San Pedro Center. More information and registration details are noted below. This event is designed specifically for those who are new lay ecclesial ministers (e.g. Parish Catechetical Leaders, Parish Youth Ministry Leaders, Programming Coordinators, Ministry Leads, Hispanic or other Ethnic Ministry Coordinators, etc.). The day will outline numerous issues of importance to your parish-based ministry (mission/vision, policies/procedures/guidelines, human resources, safe environment, programming priorities, sacramental preparation, budgeting, risk management, etc.). Seasoned or veterans of ministry are welcome to attend for a refresher. A special invitation is being made those who coordinate ministry to the sick and homebound and/or ministries of bereavement or consolation. While these folks are largely volunteers, they serve in management roles and are encouraged to attend. The focus of the day will be mostly aimed toward the catechetical elements of evangelization although the information remains relevant for all who serve within the purview of evangelization. If you know a colleague that you think would benefit from attending this event please extend an invitation or let us know (firstname.lastname@example.org) so that the Secretariat can invite them personally. The event is free-of-charge but you must register. Click here to see the flyer & to register click here.
