Do I treat all people, young or old, male or female, clergy and laity, with equal respect and dignity?  Do I see the potential of all and encourage them to do God’s work in love?

Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Reflection Pic

1 Kings 3 verses 7-8:  Now, Lord, my God, you have made me, your servant, king to succeed David my father; but I am a mere youth, not knowing at all how to act — I, your servant, among the people you have chosen, a people so vast that it cannot be numbered or counted.

Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 904-907. In using their particular knowledge and competencies to achieve the task of teaching “in order to lead others to faith,” both the hierarchy and laity participate in Christ’s prophetic office.  Each has rights and duties in honoring the common good and promoting the dignity of persons.

Do I treat all people, young or old, male or female, clergy and laity, with equal respect and dignity?  Do I see the potential of all and encourage them to do God’s work in love?

Praying with and for you as we put faith in action,
