Saint Margaret Mary’s Christmas Carolers

For eight years, the Saint Margaret Mary Parish’s 6 p.m. Sunday choir have been singing Christmas carols at people’s houses. The choir does this to support Haiti and to bring people joy.

It is fun for them to sing and support Haiti because all the money they earn singing at different homes, goes to Haiti (the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere).

When the St. Margaret Mary choir visits, they usually are there for about 20 minutes. They sing many traditional songs, like Jingle Bells, Silent Night, and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Many families that have the choir come over, host a party so the guests may hear the choir.  Santa and Mrs. Claus come too. This is a big highlight for all the children who get to talk to Santa, sit on his lap and maybe get a small gift.

The Choir only do this during Advent for one night during the Christmas season. The choir goes to several houses each night/year they do it. This 2015 year, they did it on Saturday, December 5th and visited six houses. Once they went to nine houses in one night!

If you would like to bring cheer to friends and family, you should consider having a Christmas or Advent party & have the St. Margaret Mary Choir come and sing at your party next year.
