St. Paul Students Spread Christmas Joy

Christmas is a time for celebration, love, and light. Giving each other presents on Christmas Day is a tradition that dates back centuries. But what about poor, needy children (and adults) whose families can’t afford presents?

That’s where the Catholic community of St. Paul decided to help. St. Paul’s started its “Giving Tree” campaign in which people take the names of children and their wish lists and buy presents for them. The students of the St. Paul’s Beta Club took part in that as well.

This year the Beta Club sponsored an Advent project in which all St. Paul students were asked to earn at least one dollar and donate it; the proceeds were then used by the 8th grade Beta members to sponsor six children from the Giving Tree. The total amount of money raised was over $434. Beta members went on a shopping field trip on Dec. 11, wrapped the presents, and put them under the tree.
