Saint Joseph Catholic School Student Council in Palm Bay collected toy cars and dolls for the children in Orlando’s sister Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic, who might not get presents this Christmas.
Student Council members collected gifts from Nov. 20 to Dec. 5. All the students who participated got a free NUT day, or No Uniform Today day, for a donation of a toy car or doll. Those students who donated also received a “golden ticket” for the Christmas raffle, held at the school’s Christmas program. Over 100 students brought cars and dolls for the worthwhile collection.
The collection for the children of San Juan de la Maguana showed how the school community thinks of others this Christmas season. Students hope all the children who will be receiving toys will be overjoyed.
