Our Cathedral Parish and Diocese celebrate the Solemnity of the Rededication of St. James Cathedral on Thursday, November 20. This Solemnity celebrates not only a building but what our Church building represents. Our Cathedral is a visible sign of God’s divine action in our lives and in our world. It signifies the foretaste and promise of the new and eternal Jerusalem and affords our most reverent attention. It is also a sign of God’s living temple on earth; the place where God builds each and every one of us into his living temple. It is fitting that we call all of the faithful of our diocese to celebrate our unity as the Church of Orlando.
Please pray for all who make up Christ’s mystical body, that we may always seek to serve in union with John our Bishop and Francis our Pope to be the presence of Christ in our world.
