Two Collections to be Held at Local Parishes

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development was mandated by the U.S. bishops to address the root causes of poverty in America through promotion and support of self-help organizations and transformative education.

Two collections will be held at local parishes on Nov. 15 and will benefit the following:

  1. Catholic Campaign for Human Development
  2. African Church

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development was mandated by the U.S. bishops to address the root causes of poverty in America through promotion and support of self-help organizations and transformative education. The Office of Advocacy and Justice of the Diocese of Orlando receives 25% of the funds from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development for pro-life education and outreach programming. Also, grants are provided to local parishes and community groups for social justice education and outreach efforts. Most recently, Church of the Epiphany Parish in Port Orange received a grant from this collection.

The Pastoral Solidarity Fund for the Church in Africa provides grants to finance pastoral projects that support the maintenance and growth of the Church in Africa, including outreach programs, schools, evangelization, and education of clergy and lay ministers.
