Two Holy Redeemer Students Win KUA Honor for Artwork

 

A new painting will be unveiled on Friday, May 23rd, demonstrating the artistic talent of Holy Redeemer Catholic School student, 4th grader, Javier Castro. The painting will be on a Kissimmee Utility Authority Bucket truck for one year as the grand prize for winning the KUA calendar art contest.

A new painting will be unveiled on Friday, May 23rd, demonstrating the artistic talent of Holy Redeemer Catholic School student, 4th grader, Javier Castro. The painting will be on a Kissimmee Utility Authority Bucket truck for one year as the grand prize for winning the KUA calendar art contest. 

Two students, Brianna Annunziata, a fifth grader, and Javier Castro, a fourth grader, both won spots in the KUA calendar out of nearly 1800 entries from 32 Osceola elementary schools.  Both students also won a cash prize and Javier Castro won the grand prize.

 “We are extremely proud of these two very talented students,” said Gloria Del Orbe, Principal of Holy Redeemer Catholic School. “Creativity is part of our mission to educate the whole child , for which these two students have displayed.”

The school also won $500 in art supplies and a pizza party for the school community sponsored by KUA which will precede the unveiling of the newly painted truck on Friday, May 23rd.

“I’m really proud that I can represent Holy Redeemer in this contest,” said Castro. “I love this school and this allows me to give back to it.”

The calendars are free and are available from KUA and Holy Redeemer.
