Workshops – Married Couples

Please find below the list of workshops to be presented during the 2013 Marriage Conference on Saturday, August 3, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Participants are welcome to choose one workshopin Permanence; Fidelity; and Open to New Life. Don’t Rock the Marriage – Deacon Norm and Cindy Levesque
As an inter-faith couple, the Levesque’s learned years ago not to rock the faith boat in their relationship. In this interactive workshop, Deacon Norm and Cindy will share how they have been able to stay married over 35 years, using their personal experiences, challenges, and teachings of the church.

Love: Keeping it Alive, Fun and Eternal – Dave and Kay Nowak
This workshop will explore the ways Jesus’ presence, mutual respect for each other, forgiveness, fun, and awareness help keep our love alive. This workshop will include couple and small group activities to generate ideas and create an environment of support and companionship.

Permanence in a Throw-away Society – Willie and Gigi Santiago
As an adult child of divorce, Gigi had to come to terms with what Willie understood and knew about marriage being for life. The Santiago’s share their story through humor, audience participation and helpful activities to stimulate couples discussion on the attitude of permanence in their marriages.

Seventy Years From Today-I Promise! – Bill and Dee Hartley
Take it from a couple who met in a divorce support group: embracing the sacramental nature of marriage lays the foundation for a life-long partnership! Our journey together isn’t always easy, but holding hands with God is better than any support group we could find.

Decisión de Amor y Vida para el Matrimonio – Ricardo y Lucía Luzondo
Este taller profundizará en el voto de permanencia en el Sacramento del Matrimonio, los fundamentos del verdadero amor conyugal en los cuales se basa, el compromiso y decisión de vida requeridos para alcanzarla, las pruebas de fuego que pueden socavarla y las herramientas para sobrellevarlas.

Manteniendo el Amor en Eterna Primavera – Steve y Paola Murphy
De luna de miel a luna de hiel, los matrimonios pasamos por continuas etapas de amor y desamor gracias a la rutina de la vida diaria. Compartiremos experiencias sobre cómo el compromiso y decisión son indispensables para mantener la llama del amor encendida y disfrutar de una continua primavera, ¡hasta que la muerte nos separe!

Unidos a Tiempo y Destiempo – Francisco y María Peralta
Como la pareja se mantiene unida a pesar de los obstáculos y contratiempos y exigencias de la vida cotidiana. Claves para tener fortalezas para perseverar y disfrutar la vida en pareja.

A Hi-Fi Love – Jim and Nancy Christie
The Christie’s will share their personal story of learning what a high-fidelity marriage is, why it is important for each married couple, our church, and our society, and how to avoid the temptations that distract from fidelity in marriage. Participants will leave with several ideas for enhancing fidelity in their own marriage.

Family Fidelity, Who’s Family? – Tony and Marie Ortiz
No matter if your differences are your faith background, ethnicity, culture, etc., these affects how each views fidelity and infidelity. The Ortiz’s knows of how family differences can create conflict in a marriage and how small problems can become bigger quickly. They will share their experiences; and if they didn’t have God in the center of their relationship, they were headed toward explicit infidelity, but now they are a strong marriage of three: Husband, wife, and God!

Marital Fidelity: Beyond the Obvious – Frank and Phyllis Milmore
When marriage vows are spoken and you hear the words faithful and fidelity, most people think of sexual fidelity. However, there are many, many other ways to be faithful or unfaithful to our spouse. The Milmore’s will explore these other ways, sharing their own challenges and successes and offer suggestions as to how you can become more faithful to each other.

La fidelidad se asocia siempre a la idea de la vida de pareja, sin embargo esta fidelidad tiene varias facetas. Fidelidad en tu vida matrimonial, en tu vida social, en tu vida como cristiano y hasta fidelidad contigo mismo. En este taller vamos a compartir cómo utilizar algunas experiencias de vida y algunas herramientas que nos ofrece nuestra Iglesia Católica para ayudarte a mantener esa fidelidad.

¿Realmente Somos Fieles a Nuestra Pareja? – Carlos y Esther Lebrón
En esta charla vamos a compartir como identificar esas cosas a las cuales le damos más importancia que afectan nuestra relación y nos puede llevar a un adulterio. Compartiremos herramientas de cómo perdonarnos en la vida diaria y fomentar la fidelidad en la pareja en todos los aspectos.

¿Se Nos Muere el Amor? – Anthony y Angie Morales
En nuestra relación de pareja a menudo nos vemos muy cerca pero a la vez muy lejos y pensamos que es porque se nos muere el amor. Ofrecemos herramientas para evitar llegar a un Divorcio Espiritual y posibles soluciones basado en nuestro testimonio.

Be Not Afraid – Jim and Judy Townsend
One traumatic crisis encountered in a marriage is a complication of pregnancy. Navigating this terrain can leave couples feeling isolated, vulnerable and uncertain of how to support each other. Jim and Judy share insight regarding the differences in how moms and dads deal with crisis, providing guidance on how couples can remain connected while welcoming their baby.

Being Honest and Open – Tim and Kellie Stewart
Kellie’s work experience at a crisis pregnancy center has an impact on her marriage. She has learned how important an open and honest discussion of sexuality and unity in married life is. This couple recognizes and celebrates the excitement that being open to life in your marriage can bring.

Faith, Hope and Trust, a Story of Adoption – Jason and Jennifer Norman
The Normans battled years of infertility, multiple miscarriages, and surgery, not fully understanding why they did not conceive. Through prayer and scripture, they heard God’s call to the beautiful gift of adoption. The Normans are now blessed with four beautiful children. Their story is one of hope, faith, and trust in our loving God.

Los míos, los tuyos y los nuestros. Presentaremos herramientas sobre cómo combinar dos familias para llegar a ser una. Compartiremos claves y técnicas basadas en experiencias personales que nos ayudan a fomentar la relación y perseverar para mantener la relación de pareja y la familia unida.

Nuestros Hijos: ¿Nos Unen o Nos Separan? – Alex y Glenda Agosto
Los hijos son una bendición de Dios y fruto de nuestro amor. ¿Más qué sucede cuando ese fruto nos separa y crea conflictos en nuestra relación de pareja? Durante la presentación habla-remos de una variedad de factores que afectan o edifican nuestra función como matrimonio y padres. La presentación será basada en experiencias, incluyendo ideas prácticas y con estilo interactivo.

Tu Matrimonio y Tu Hogar: Templos de V-I-D-A – Dennis y Marveliz Johnson
El matrimonio es clave fundamental para la sociedad y une el hombre y a la mujer en un lazo permanente de V-I-D-A (v-alores, i-nterrelación, d-esarrollo, y a-pertura) hacia la procreación y la convivencia familiar. En este taller, usted descubrirá faros de guía para sostener la V-I-D-A de su pareja y renovará el sentido de familia con herramientas prácticas.
