This week, Pope Francis drew attention to World Refugee Day as he prayed for our “brothers and sisters who seek refuge far from their native lands, who seek a home where they can live without fear: that they might always be respected in their dignity. I encourage the work of those who bring help to those in need.”
For more than thirty-five years Catholic Charities of Central Florida has assisted the Church in its role of ‘welcoming the stranger’ (Matthew 25:35). In January 2012, Catholic Charities of Central Florida was named the lead agency by the Florida Department of Children & Families to coordinate refugee services in Central Florida.
Celebrate World Refugee Day with Catholic Charities of Central Florida this Saturday, June 20, 2015 from 10 a.m.-2p.m. at Oak Ridge High School (700 West Oak Ridge Road, Orlando, FL 32809).
