VIERA | On a beautiful, cold morning, Bishop John Noonan blessed the new rectory at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Viera. Parishioners gathered Jan. 18, 2026, to celebrate the ribbon cutting before Mass.
“We have come full circle with this addition,” said Father John Britto Antony, parish pastor. “This year we are celebrating our 25th year of our founding, a silver jubilee year. So, I wanted to make sure we got to bless it during this year.”

Parishioners were also invited to walk through the home, which includes three bed-rooms for priests and two guest rooms.
“I hope to get one more priest,” Father Antony said. “Right now, we are only two. Hopefully, we will get one seminarian, a deacon, or a senior priest, someone who can help.”
The new rectory, named St. John’s House, was constructed on campus and will better support the needs of the growing parish.

“I’m very grateful to God and to our people and to Bishop John Noonan for supporting us,” Father Antony shared. “We completed the project, but that’s not the end of the story.”
