ORLANDO | On June 3, 2026, the Mercy Fund presented Bishop John Noonan and Catholic Charities of Central Florida with a check for $10,000 to replenish the food supply at Agape Mission Market at Holy Spirit Parish in Lake Wales.
Juan Vega, CCCF food ministry director, wrote to Deacon Gary Tester, CCCF president, in gratitude for the “just in time” support.
“This $10,000 will go directly toward a critical purchase order to replenish the pantry,” Vega wrote. “Our focus with this purchase order is to secure essential non-perishable items so we can stabilize inventory and provide a more balanced distribution to our neighbors.”
Vega reported the investment should help carry the location through the next four or five months, depending on demand. More importantly, this gives our team the ability to stay focused on serving people, not worrying about empty shelves. It allows us to continue the work consistently and with the level of compassion our communities deserve.”
Made possible through the generosity of The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida board of directors and faithful donors, the Mercy Fund supports Catholic Charities’ ability to respond to increased needs of the people of God in the Diocese of Orlando including food, behavioral health and financial assistance for rent, utilities and daily needs.
