ALTAMONTE SPRINGS | Traditionally on the feast of the Holy Innocents, Dec. 28, 2023, St. Mary Magdalen parishioners offer a prayer service and add ornaments on the Tree of Life to remember the Holy Innocents who died at the hands of Herod, as well as all those children lost through miscarriage, abortion, accident or illness.

This year, in recognition of the Eucharistic Revival, the event was commemorated with a Mass, affirming the ever- present Christ with us. Celebrated by parochial vicar Father Duberney Rodas Grajalas, the bilingual Mass featured
the lighting of a Wreath of Memorial with candles of hope, as a reminder that even in sorrow, the light that prevails is Christ, whose power over death and gift of eternal life is consolation to all who gather on this feast.

After Mass, parishioners placed their ornaments on the Tree of Remembrance, both blessed by Father Grajales. Each ornament honors a lost loved one.
