ST. CLOUD | At Magnify of Central Florida, they understand meaningful work is more than a paycheck. It’s a pathway to confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging. To do this, Magnify’s on-the-job training program connects individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to real-world opportunities that match their interests and strengths.

One inspiring example is Nick, who discovered purpose and pride through his placement at Heartland Haven, a nonprofit horse ranch in Orange County that rescues and retrains horses to help people find healing, personal growth, and self-discovery. The partnership empowers individuals like Nick to grow, learn and shine.

Through Magnify’s on-the-job program, Nick spends his work days caring for the horses and helping keep the ranch running smoothly, gaining hands-on skills, building confidence, while becoming a valued member of the Heartland Haven family.

With guidance from the ranch staff and Magnify job coaches, he is learning time management, workplace safety, multi-step tasks and teamwork, all in a supportive, real-world environment.

Nick’s responsibilities are as varied as they are meaningful. He feeds and walks the horses to keep them healthy and carefully prepares special meals for those with dietary needs, showing attention to detail and growing expertise. Beyond animal care, Nick helps maintain the ranch by cleaning stalls and barns, painting fences, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the property remains safe and welcoming.
