San Pedro - A Journey of Understanding: Nostra Aetate Reflections- A Catholic Approach to Interfaith Conversation
San Pedro - A Journey of Understanding: Nostra Aetate Reflections- A Catholic Approach to Interfaith Conversation
September 21, 2025 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
San Pedro Spiritual Development Center, 95 Bishop Grady Ln, Winter Park, FL 32792, USA
Join us for "A Journey of Understanding: Nostra Aetate Reflections" Part 3 - A Catholic Approach to Interfaith Conversations and Taize Prayer Service, at Mary, Mother of God Chapel from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 21. The presentation will be from 3:00-4:00 pm, followed by Taize Prayer from 4:00-5:00 pm.
We will explore how the Catholic Church engages in respectful, meaningful dialogue with people of other faith traditions. Rooted in the vision of the Second Vatican Council, this session will reflect on the principles that guide interfaith conversations, the value of shared human dignity, and practical ways Catholics can build bridges of understanding in a diverse world.
This event is the third in a four-part series designed to help people become more aware of our commonality and bring hope to our communities.
Nostra Aetate, a groundbreaking document written by Pope Paul VI during the Second Vatican Council in 1965, explores the relationship between the Catholic Church and non-Christian religions. It emphasizes the importance of understanding, respect, and dialogue among people of different faiths.
As part of the Jubilee Year, Pilgrims of Hope, this series aims to foster a deeper sense of unity and shared humanity. We invite you to join us in this journey of reflection and prayer.
Come and be part of this inspiring event that seeks to build bridges and promote peace in our communities.
This event is free and a collection will be taken at the event to help cover expenses.
We ask for an RSVP due to capacity limits and so we know how many to prepare for. If you are no longer able to attend, please contact the Programming Office.

San Pedro - 'Fill Your Cup'- Part 1: Called and Unbound: Encountering Sacred Story through Imagination
San Pedro - 'Fill Your Cup'- Part 1: Called and Unbound: Encountering Sacred Story through Imagination
September 25, 2025 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
San Pedro Spiritual Development Center, 95 Bishop Grady Ln, Winter Park, FL 32792, USA
Join us Thursday, September 25, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in St. Augustine Building 100 for Called and Unbound: Encountering Sacred Story through Imagination, led by Victoria Knight, a spiritual director and expressive arts facilitator.
Called and Unbound is a contemplative and creative series inviting participants to engage with scripture through imagination and expressive arts. Instead of reading biblical stories only for understanding, participants are guided to enter the story as if for the first time—listening with the heart, noticing emotional responses, and exploring through writing, visual art, and reflection. The program invites participants to deepen their attentiveness to God’s presence through sacred story, while also exploring their own personal call and transformation through the gift of imagination. Together, we will practice writing and art as prayerful ways of engaging with scripture and open ourselves to experiencing scripture as a living encounter with God’s Word.
Part 1: Called — Listening for the Voice 1 Samuel 3:1–10
The call of Samuel invites us to listen deeply for God’s voice and respond with courage. Participants may imagine themselves as Samuel, Eli, or even the lamp still burning in the night. Through creative expression and reflection, they will explore themes of attentiveness, awakening, and calling.
Each Session Includes
- A printed copy of the scripture story
- All Art Materials
- A Guided Process Facilitation
- Invitation for Sharing and Witnessing
